Information we collect
- Contact details — your name, mobile number and email address, so we can confirm the booking and the driver can reach you.
- Trip details — pickup and drop addresses, dates and times, needed to price and dispatch the trip.
- Payment information — processed by our payment provider. We store the payment status and the last few digits of the instrument, never the full card number.
- Device and usage data — pages visited and approximate location (only when you tap 'Current Location'), used to prefill the pickup field and to diagnose faults.
How we use it
We use your information to create and dispatch bookings, to share the minimum necessary details with the assigned driver, to process payments and refunds, to send trip updates over SMS or email, and to meet our legal and tax obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
What the driver sees
An assigned driver sees your name, mobile number, pickup and drop location. They do not see your email address, your payment details or your booking history.
Sharing with others
We share data with payment gateways, SMS and email providers, and mapping services strictly to deliver the service, and with law enforcement where we are legally required to. Each of these processes data on our instructions only.
How long we keep it
Booking and invoice records are retained for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Account data is kept while your account is open. Location captured for a pickup is retained only for the life of that booking.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account — see zippy.cab/delete-account for how. Write to zippycab.services@gmail.com from the email address on the account and we will respond within 30 days.
Drivers and fleet partners
This policy describes what we collect from passengers. If you drive with Zippy or run a fleet, the Zippy Partner app collects different information — notably your location while you are on duty — and is covered by a separate policy at zippy.cab/privacy/partner.
Cookies
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, to remember your theme preference, and to hold an in-progress booking. We do not use advertising cookies.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects you, notify you by email.
